We have now concluded the interview stage of the project. Thank you so much for your interest. Thank you to all the participants!

You (as an individual) or your family may be eligible to take part if:

  • You identify as queer and/or trans (including non-binary identities)
  • You are a birth parent who gave birth in Ontario OR you are a co-parent or partner to a birth parent who gave birth in Ontario
  • The birth occurred within the past 3 years with midwives (including if care was shared with, or transferred to, an obstetrical team at any point)
  • You are at least 18 years of age

We would especially like to hear from you if you’re a queer/trans individual who experiences poverty, is disabled, or racialized.

What’s involved?

TWO online storytelling interviews (over Zoom) as an individual or family for about 60-90 minutes – that’s 2 opportunities for us to get to know one another and share stories.

Each family member who participates will receive an honorarium of $35 per interview as a thank you for being part of this study. Up to 4 people can participate as a family – including birth parents, co-parents, & partners.

When are the interviews?

Whenever you’re ready to share your stories with us.

Why participate?

Your stories will help shape the future of midwifery care in Ontario – and beyond!
